Thank you for visiting Angelwing Jewellery. I am Cathy McCarthy and have been making, designing and teaching jewellery over the past 10 years. This site showcases many of the hand-made designs I have created. The gallery features examples of my work for sale and one off commissions I have undertaken. The quality of the design ideas and the materials I use is of paramount importance to me. I spend many hours researching new ideas to incorporate in my designs. I use only sterling silver or gold for the pieces and the fittings and all my work is hallmarked to indicate the quality of metal used. I also only use precious, semi precious stones and beads in my work which I feel enhances the high design and construction quality. My design inspiration. Textures, forms and colours from nature are my main inspiration. I enjoy exploring natural surface textures and the shapes and spaces in and around natural forms. I particularly like the feeling of transforming metal into wearable pieces which reflect a natural delicacy and a rich depth in surface or shape.
