Some background to Angelwing Jewellery designer and maker, Cathy McCarthy

Originally from Southampton, Cathy has lived and worked in Edinburgh since 1996.

During studies for a H.N.D. in 3-Dimensional Design at Portsmouth College of Art, Cathy first tried and fell in love with the use of metal to make jewellery.

Shortly after moving to Edinburgh she started an N.C. Jewellery making and design course at Lauder College, Dunfermline, Fife.

"This was a great course, really underpinning my career as a jeweller"

Since completing this course Cathy have worked on developing her technical and design skills and has a great workshop where there is the perfect environment to be creative.

Cathy's work has been displayed and on sale in shops, galleries and of course the Internet.

Cathy tutors various classes and workshops for Jewellery making, in Edinburgh and works part-time at the Assay Office Scotland, both of which help add another dimension to life as a jeweller.
